January 23, 2014 marked the 11th year of the establishment of the Jim Wagner Reality-Based Personal Protection system, and to commemorate this milestone event I, and famous knife manufacturer Boker, minted a Reality-Based Challenge Coin.
The front side of the RBPP Challenge Coin has the official Jim Wagner Reality-Based logo with the motto Be A Hard Target and the date that the system was established: January 21, 2003. The back of the RBPP Challenge Coin has the Böker logo, which is the manufacturer of the Jim Wagner Reality Based Blade series. Under the logo is a small engraving space for a name or student number. The challenge coin started as a military tradition, then spread to police agencies, and eventually to the self-defense community. If you ever come across another Reality-Based Personal Protection student or instructor in a bar, nightclub, or restaurant you slap down your challenge coin on the table to "challenge" the person joining you. If he or she does not have their RBPP Challenge Coin with them then they are required to buy one round of drinks.
